From the President

Welcome! This site is designed to help you and your whole team make the most of your membership, especially if you are new to NAIS.

As your national membership association, we aim to save you time in addressing fundamental day-to-day needs and to help you grow, both as a school and as a professional. We're also focused on the big picture, exploring with you the topics that are on the horizon for all schools.

We know that your school's context and history are important. Each of our schools is unique in its background, mission and market, regional realities, and student and family needs. We hope that you will see these differences reflected in the materials you find here, and we look forward to continuing to offer a breadth and depth of resources and tools that will be useful to you and your school community.

If you have any questions about how to use NAIS products and services in your specific school context, please don't hesitate to contact us. It's through your questions and engagement that we can improve what we offer, this year and for many years to come.

About NAIS

Vision

All learners find pathways to success through the independence, innovation, and diversity of our schools, creating a more equitable world.

Mission

As the largest association of independent schools, NAIS co-creates the future of education by uniting and empowering our community. We do this through thought leadership, research, creation and curation of resources, and direct collaboration with education leaders.

NAIS Community at a Glance

As a community, you have access to a network of peers that you can connect with. The graphics in this section show a snapshot of our member schools.

Tips & Reminders

Everyone at your school can access NAIS resources. All faculty, staff, and board members should create their own unique account, tied to your school’s account. Please be sure to update your school’s roster to ensure that everyone at your school has access.

Data and Analysis for School Leadership (DASL) data entry opens in the early part of the summer, and ends in the fall. DASL is a must-have tool for driving strategic conversations at your school. Adding accurate and complete data will help you better understand your school and will serve you for years to come. This data also fuels key resources for the entire community, such as the NAIS DASL Databook and NAIS Trendbook, and it helps us determine if your entire staff and faculty will be eligible for additional discounts beyond the standard member pricing for professional development events.

NAIS membership renewal notices for the upcoming school year are sent via email in April. They are typically addressed to the head of school, unless you provide an alternate contact. Renewal dues are based on opening day enrollment for the preceding school year. You will receive an email notification when it is time to update your school’s opening day enrollment numbers each year. NAIS membership runs from July 1–June 30.

Remember, the NAIS staff is here to help. Please contact us through our Help Center or call (202) 973-9700 with any questions
